2020 Kramer Nightswan Reissue

Details

I snagged this one used from Guitar Center, and it arrived in spotless condition still with the plastic on the cavity covers - not bad. It’s a very nice guitar and feels similar quality wise to others in the same price range (this was $899 brand new) like the Jackson Pro series, Fender HM Reissue’s etc.

It is equipped with two Seymour Duncan JB pickups, one standard spaced in the “middle” and one F-spaced in the bridge. I would’ve far preferred the original spec of a middle JB and a bridge Full Shred - and that’s actually one of my primary gripes with this guitar. It has an R2 nut, while the originals had an R1, but otherwise it’s very close to vintage spec. It seems they just didn’t go quite far enough in terms of replicating a vintage Nightswan and I would’ve been a lot happier with it if it had an R1 and Full Shred on board, even if the price were slightly higher.

Still, it’s nicely put together and a great player with very nice quality fretwork, although the ebony fretboard is not all that exciting to look at (mine has a very plain, almost unnoticeable grain).
