2015 Marshall 2555x Silver Jubilee Reissue

Overview

I picked up this amp after falling in love with my JCM800 2205, since both amps share a similar two-channel design with clipping diodes used for extra drive. Despite looking similar on paper, the amps are far different in sound, with the Jubilee having a much darker voice and a bit more of a “classic” appeal than the 2205, which was a bit more modern for the time with a more aggressive tone.

I used this amp for my first amp review, which definitely is.. unpolished. However I think the comparison clips between the 2555x, 2205, and 2100 Mk III are still useful so I’ve left it up.

At the time, I didn’t have as much space to keep amps, so I sold this one off to make more room. I later decided to buy another one. Check out that page for more details here: 2nd Marshall 2555X
