1989 Ibanez 540R
Details
I picked up this guitar after falling in love with my ‘87 540R, which has the same body and neck shape. Radius guitars like this have Ibanez’s “Ultra” neck, which has a thick, classic profile but with a flat fretboard radius, which makes them feel a lot different from the more common Wizard necks. This one is later in ‘88, and is equipped with factory Dimarzio C1 single coils and the F1 bridge pickup, which is a medium output humbucker with a ton of versatility. The black Ibanez Edge bridge is one of the best floating tremolos around, and holds a tune as well as any real floyd, with great tone to boot.
