1988 Kramer Pacer Imperial
Details
This late model Pacer Imperial has some interesting, transitional features. Kramer was always innovating and making changes to their models, and this is the earliest 7/8 body Pacer Imperial I have acquired. The most notable feature is the neck - a bound pointy headstock, maple fretboard, however it has dot inlays at the 12th fret, instead of the small “Kramer” logo as these necks have later. I have seen several necks like this with rosewood fretboards, but this is the first time I’ve seen a maple one like this. Sadly, I never got to truly appreciate this instrument as the neck had a severe twist, forcing its return to Guitar Center. It was marked vintage (only 3 days to return), but I feel confident that releasing the tension or perhaps steaming the neck could restore it, but I wasn’t willing to risk it for the price I paid.
