1988 Kramer Pacer Custom II

Details

I assembled this guitar from parts. The body should be in the F3xxx range, but those plates are hard to come by. It’s unique in that it’s a large-bodied soloist shape Pacer Custom II, but has the floyd rose recess and lower horn scoop, plus the route in the trem cavity for the trem-setter. The trem-setter was never installed and the holes never drilled, so it’s possible this was a NOS or fire sale body.

The neck is a mid-86 block logo pointy that a previous owner has repainted with the “pyramid” Kramer logo. This neck originally would’ve had black 90° Gotoh tuners, but I put a set of W. German made Schallers. Technically, Kramer only used the 135° Schallers on factory models, never these 90° types. The plate is a leftover chrome Fxxx plate from a firesale bin, and pickups are all Dimarzios - HS4’s and a ToneZone, complete with an 80s OFR.

I’ve since disassembled this guitar as its little deviations from “period correct” were driving me crazy, and I wanted to have the parts to restore other Kramers to the correct factory specifications.
