1987 Robin Medley
Details
This 1987 Robin is also made in Japan by ESP, and is equipped with a Kahler 2700 bridge despite having a route and rear trem cavity cover that looks like it could easily house a double locking tremolo instead. The finish is a subtle metallic sparkle which is very evident when holding it in your hands, which makes it a little more interesting to look at than a more plain black. The previous owner swapped the bridge pickup for a recent Seymour Duncan Nazgul and a kill switch, as well as a coil-tap on a push-pull tone pot. It’s too bad about the hole drilled for the mini switch, but overall the condition of the guitar is incredible, with hardly a scratch on it and only light play wear.
The neck shares many similarities to my later 80s Kramers, also made by ESP, and has nearly the same headstock shape and 3-piece maple construction, although this Robin has 24 frets and a 25.5 scale length, something Kramer never did on a bolt on guitar.
