1987 Ibanez Pro 540R Radius

Details

This first-year Ibanez 540R “Radius” model is set apart by a few unique features compared to later Radius models. The most obvious one is likely the 3 mini-toggle switches, which engage each pickup individually, and the tone control is a push-push switch that splits the Humbucker. Pickups are IBZ/USA OEM Dimarzio pickups, predating the later F1/F2/F3/F4 humbuckers and C1/C2 single coils. Another feature usually only seen on 1987 guitars is the “Roadstar Series” text on the tilt-back headstock. This guitar came with the original grey “chainsaw” case, and the backstop trem stopper, which allows the recessed Edge bridge to be locked to dive only so it is easier to change tunings on the fly, such as going to Drop D.
